Elderly Client

Advances in medical science and improved standards of living mean that we can all look forward to a longer and healthier life. However, it is also more likely that we will need some form of help and assistance during older age. The uncertainty of how this help might be provided is understandably of concern to us all. You want to know that you will be well looked after, but it is not always possible to have all the care and support provided by our families; due to daily life demands. Therefore when there is a need for residential or nursing care the task often falls to someone outside the family.

More and more people are now asking themselves whether they will need to consider long term residential care. The current care system is complex and confusing and a few questions spring to mind, such as: –

  • What type of care might be available?
  • Who will pay for it?
  • What choices and rights do I have?
  • How does the care system work?
  • Will I have to sell my home?
  • Will I still be able to leave an inheritance to my family?

There are many people who no longer have the independence they once had to deal with day to day life; it may be that they feel vulnerable living alone, or they are suffering from illness, or they simply cannot get around as much anymore. At these times, advice on how to cope with both the practical and financial consequences that long term care requirements can bring and how to protect your assets will be invaluable.

We place client care at the forefront of our service. We have a dedicated Elderly Client Consultant who is committed wholly to advising and assisting on such issues. We only provide the service you need, acting purely in yours or your relatives’ best interests. Sometimes this is arranging full time care, or maybe assisting with the running of the household, arranging for cleaners or bills to be paid.

Lasting Powers of Attorney are valuable assets to have when decisions regarding your welfare and finances need to made upon your behalf, if you are unable to do so. Home Visits

We understand that our elderly clients may not be in a position to visit us at our offices. By prior arrangement, we can meet with our elderly clients at home or in hospital.
